2018-2019 Youth Basketball - Winter 2019

Aledo Lions Club Youth Sports is a 501c3 non-profit organization that encourages participation and helps develop skills.  We want to give our children an appreciation for the game as well as teach good sportsmanship and ask coaches and parents to model this behavior.  Practices begin after Thanksgiving (Nov 26).  No practices during Christmas Break.  8 Season games played on Saturday's Jan. 12th thru Feb. 16,  each team will have at least 2 dbl headers.  Players selected for All Stars play through 3/2.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • First Practice: Practices begins the week of November 26, 2018.
  • Season Game Days: Every Saturday beginning on January 12, with the last season game on February 16. Each team will have 2 - Double Header game days due to the condensed season because of the holiday schedules.
  • Player Evaluation: We try in earnest to create fair and balanced teams using player evaluations. 7/8 Co-ed new players may be asked to attend a player evaluation date the week of 11/12 with a date TBA via email.
  • Placement: Team placement is determined by a draft system. As a result no coach or ride share requests will be accepted. Our volunteer coaches will be selecting the players for each team.
  • Severe Weather: We follow Aledo ISD's severe weather policy. If AISD is closed, we will not have practice that evening.
  • Aledo Lions Club Scholarship Donations: Every year Aledo Lions Youth Activities grants a scholarship to a graduating Senior at Aledo High School. These donations will be directly granted to a past player of ALYBA.
